What it does
- Every screenshot named from its own text. Rolltop reads the text in each screenshot on your Mac and picks the line the picture is about. It never makes up a word, and the date stays: “Invoice 4471 — 31 Oct 2026 at 18.06”.
- Every download says where it came from. The site, the app that saved it and the day, as macOS recorded them. Then whether you have another copy on this Mac, or whether it may be your only copy, always with the reason.
- Private keys, noticed. A key sitting in Downloads gets a calm note: keep it somewhere safer, then remove this copy. Rolltop never opens it.
- Nothing moves until you press Apply. Before every run you see where each file will end up. One Undo puts the whole run back, and removing means the Trash, so Put Back works.
- Rules by where things came from. Everything Slack saved, everything sent by AirDrop: a rule suggests a folder, and its moves join the list you check before Apply.

Rolltop’s Overview: 46 things are worth a look, with screenshots and their waiting names, downloads with where they came from, and the apps that saved them
Screenshots: each old name struck through, the name read from the picture, other lines from it to choose instead, and the month folder it will go to
Downloads: every file with the site it came from, the app that saved it, and what happens if you remove it; the details panel explains a temporary link
Before Apply: here’s what will change, nothing has moved yet, with every file’s new name and one Undo for all 36 changes
Sources: most of Downloads arrived from three apps, Chrome, Slack and Claude, with two rules that file what Slack and AirDrop saved
